Charitable Organizations

The church has arranged for members
to donate to charitable organizations such as the Humane Society and
Doctors without Borders.

Members collected toys for the
Children's Bureau and personal grooming supplies for the homeless,
and the Women of Unity conducted a Thanksgiving Food Drive.

Members look forward
to cooking and serving meals to homeless guests at the Lancaster
Homeless Shelter and Grace Resource Center.

Trip
to AV Healthcare
After last year's Valentine
reception, a group from the church visited the AV Healthcare
facility to distribute Valentine cards and small baskets of silk flowers
to patients who ordinarily do not have visitors. (February 15th, 2009)
Dreamstarter
This event to collect and
distribute clothing for the needy was held at the church on Sunday, February 21
2009
National Barefoot Sunday: Kathleen's Outreach was a Shoe-In!
UCAV took part in this
nationwide outreach to help the more than 300 million children round the
world living barefoot. National Barefoot Sunday is sponsored by
Soles4Souls. Their mission is to impact as many lives as possible with
the gift of shoes. They partner with churches like our and other
charities and governments around the world to provide a basic gift that
most of u take for granted. The sparkplug for engaging UCAV in this
outreach activity was Kathleen Thomas, shown with our own shoe harvest
in the photo below.
